Our assessment and referral center is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week to provide confidential, no-cost assessments. No appointment or referral is needed. Please call 757-496-3500 to initiate the process or receive more information.

The assessment and referral center is staffed by social workers, nurses and counselors who work as a team to determine the appropriate treatment option for each patient. Whether answering questions or performing face-to-face assessments, our assessment staff provides immediate access to confidential behavioral healthcare services.

• Evaluation of the presenting problem
• Mental health and chemical dependency history
• Current mental status examination
• Safety assessment
• Level of care determination
• Plan of action (includes referrals for ongoing support)

Our mobile assessment team sends clinicians to local hospitals, emergency rooms, medical offices, schools and businesses as needed for on-site crisis evaluations, outpatient referrals and admission services. Mobile assessment services are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

We accept most insurance plans, including HMOs, PPOs, Medicare and TRICARE®, to provide quality behavioral healthcare to as many patients as possible. Assessment staff members can help patients with insurance pre-certification and authorization from health benefit providers. Self-pay is also an available payment option.
